Elderly Care in Ayurveda. Ayurveda is a more than 1000-year-old rational approach to medicine that understood the human body at the time. Ayurveda has always been more than just a medical practice. It is a way of living that emphasizes preventive care for the body and increases its longevity. Ayurveda is concerned with more than just physical well being. It also lays the groundwork for a spiritual path free of selfishness, antisocial behavior, a negative outlook on life, and so on. It inspires one to pursue the path of maintaining a healthy soul devoid of the materialistic pleasures of life. It enables us to see a bigger picture of how to live a human life free of unholy actions.

Agni

The human body contains its heat, known as Jataragni, which maintains body metabolism while also performing all important catalytic tasks. Along with Jataragni, there are 5 panchabhutangi and 7 dhatuvagni, each with a unique job to carry out.

  • ama is a balanced Agni in the body. Vishama agni is that Unbalanced Agni is raised due to a disruption in the vaat, pitta, and Kapha doshas.
  • Tikshna Agni is the body’s hyperactive Agni, which causes the dhatus to recede as a result of fuel consumption.
  • Manda Agni is the most basic form of Agni, limiting intestinal processes and resulting in a poor digestive tract.

The portion of nutrients can be adjusted according to Ayurvedic prakriti with the proper kind of ahaar / dietary intak. Food consumption for Elderly Care in Ayurveda according to season, dosha, Bala, digestive issues, and so on all play a big impact in how Agni can process in the human body.

Ojas Bala

Ojas is also known as sharia bala, which means that our immunity is due to the presence of ojas in our bodies. Ojas enables the body to maintain a barrier mechanism that protects it from external invaders. In Ayurvedic elderly care, the concept of preventing ojas degradation is critical. Ojas levels tend to decline with age, and the reasons listed above should be avoided to maintain ojas levels. It is the basis of life.
